Scroz, you can simply ignore the skills you don't have at the moment. It works for like it already right now. I have a pvp template my PvE sin can't run, because he lacks some skills, but if I do load the template, it simply ignores the skills I don't have ( there used to be a bug, where it wouldn't load any skills, maybe it got fixed by now )

Now the string gets saved in a text file on your HD.
This would mean that they should change this and leave the templates server based (which would be good, coz if i'm logging in on someone elses pc i don't have my temps anymore), meaning that over 2 million players with let's say 20 templates each start storing that particular string on the server.
Lag?

People who play EVE Online know what a mess it was when insta BM's (Bookmarks) were copied before they introduced the 5 BM per copy action limit.
Mass server lag and it stayed like that for a while
And i'm talking about a server with only 30000 people on it

Why on earth did you think people should charge money for that?

Emik, trading items works the same...Does that create lag? Actually, just use the trade window to trade templates. Just add a little button to it for templates.

When I get home, I'll try to remember myself that I make a scheme that depicts how everything works, so there's no confusion.

Though it's not exactly like item trading an item is a Item boject in you characters backpack or bank array, on the server you are playing on.
A build is a string on you send to another person, or to a server which then sends it to the other person.
Routing through server is safer for IP hiding and the lagg strain would be no worse then plain chat.
